The Urasenke London Branch is one of many branches of the Urasenke Foundation in Japan, a non profitable organization, found world wide from the Far East to South American countries. Urasenke branches overseas main aim is to introduce and spread knowledge of Chado, The Way of Tea, a Japanese tradition with more than 400 hundred years history.
To ensure the continuation in the United Kingdom of the opportunity to have close contact with this important part of Japanese culture, and to be able to absorb its special values, the Urasenke London Branch offers:
Practical Study in group and private lessons for which there is a separate tuition charge.
Participation as a guest through an annual programme of events and special workshops at the London Branch.
Membership with its attendant privileges.
Presentations which are made regularly by the Urasenke Branch in the British Museum on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of every month. (Please check the dates with Museum).
The Kaetsu Chado Society (Cambridge) and the Maindenhead Chado Group are part of the Urasenke Associations that can be also found world wide. These two groups offer private lesson and presentations. For further details visit our find us and calendar pages.
